Even after retirement, Tom Brady and Julian Edelman remain the NFL’s iconic “buddies.” Their close friendship became legendary during their time together with the Patriots. We can spot their strong bond through Edelman’s locker room stories. Even Brady’s love for Edelman, his go-to wide receiver, was no secret. Their close bond as teammates helped them win three Super Bowl championships.

Because of this, many fans were excited at the thought of him reuniting with Brady in Tampa Bay, hoping their success would continue. However, Edelman recently gave fans a peek into his decision to stay with the New England Patriots. He also talked about his feelings when teammates Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, thus giving some more insights into their strong bonds.

Julian Edelman’s inside scoop on Brady’s offer

Julian Edelman recently opened up on The Rush Podcast about why he never joined his buddies Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When Brady left the Patriots to win another Super Bowl ring with the Bucs, Edelman felt pretty bad. He describes, “I was pissed when he left a little bit.” But it seems Brady kept the door open for a reunion, jokingly asking Edelman repeatedly, “Hey baby, want me to get you down here?”

Despite the tempting offer, Edelman decided to stay true to the Patriots. “I’m a pretty loyal guy,” he explained, stressing his dedication to his one and only NFL team – the New England Patriots. Edelman played his whole career with the Patriots, becoming a true “one-team” player.

From Brady’s teammate to one-team legend

Julian Edelman was always open about his love and respect for Tom Brady. But still, the former wide receiver is a “one-team guy” at heart. With three Super Bowl wins, a legendary coach like Bill Belichick, and a quarterback superstar by his side, Edelman had it all with the Patriots. No wonder he chose loyalty and spent his 12-year NFL career with the team.

Although Edelman sat out his final 10 games due to knee surgery and had his contract terminated for benefits, fans couldn’t help but wonder if it was all a ploy to eventually join Brady and Gronk on the Buccaneers. After all, the trio shared nine successful seasons at Patriots, winning three Super Bowls together. However, Edelman’s allegiance to the Patriots ran deep. He finally prioritized his health and legacy as a “one-team” player, cementing his place in Patriots history. Let us know your thoughts on Edelman’s decision in the comments below.
