On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors are hosting Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

During the game, Steph Curry made NBA history by moving up on the all-time assists list.

The two-time MVP has now moved ahead of Avery Johnson (5,846) for 43rd on the list.

Following Johnson, the next player for Curry to pass will be Sam Cassell (5,939).

Curry entered the matchup with averages of 28.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per contest while shooting 46.1% from the field and 41.1% from the three-point range.

The Warriors have struggled this season, but Curry still remains among the ten best players in the league.

Right now, they are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 12-14 record in their first 26 games.

In addition, the Warriors are 5-5 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

Most recently, they defeated the Portland Trail Blazers by a score of 118-114.

Following the Celtics, the Warriors will play their next game on Friday evening when they host Kyle Kuzma and the Washington Wizards.

Curry is in his 15th season in the NBA (all with the Warriors) and has career averages of 24.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 47.5% from the field and 42.7% from the three-point range in 906 regular season games.
