The NFL divisional round playoffs are set! The No.1 seeded San Francisco 49ers are scheduled to take on the No.7 seeded Green Bay Packers in their divisional round game this weekend. Ahead of the crucial game, the Niners’ head coach Kyle Shanahan takes a cheeky dig at the Dallas Cowboys team over their defeat against the Packers in the wildcard game.

During a recent press conference, the 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan addressed the media and talked about how his team started preparing for the Packers during the second quarter of their wildcard game itself.

At one stage in the second quarter of the Cowboys-Packers game, the Green Bay-based football team powered by quarterback Jordan Love and running back Aaron Jones held a 27-point lead over the Dak Prescott-led Cowboys. So, at that point, it looked like the Packers were going to run down the NFC East champions.

The 49ers were never going to face the Cowboys in the divisional round since they were the No.2 seeded team in the NFC. However, Shanahan admitted he also started watching film sessions of the Cowboys for their potential conference matchup after Dak Prescott cut the Packers’ lead to 20 just ahead of halftime in the Cowboys’ wildcard game.

Kyle Shanahan claims Brock Purdy won’t be rusty against the Packers

As the No.1 seed in the NFC, the Brock Purdy-led 49ers had a bye week while other teams battled for their spot in the divisional round of the postseason.

Now, the 49ers are preparing for their game against the Packers this weekend. Many believe Brock Purdy would be rusty after resting for a couple of weeks while Jordan Love battled against the Cowboys.

However, head coach Kyle Shanahan told the reporters on Tuesday that Purdy has been doing a lot of work despite his bye week and he wouldn’t be rusty against the Packers this weekend.

On the other hand, the Niners’ defense had a good rest last weekend. They would have to play their hearts out this weekend to defeat the Packers and advance to the conference championship game.
