Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James has been special this season once again. He hasn’t looked like he is slowing down whatsoever, and it’s been incredible to see him going strong on the court.
Being in his 21st NBA season, James has been doing things that nobody ever thought possible. He doesn’t look like a 39-year-old player, and that is a testament to how he has kept his body in shape all these years.
He was named onto the All-Star starters list again, which shows how stellar of a season he is having.
However, after being named an All-Star starter once again, James had some interesting comments about his career. Notably, he mentioned that he exceeded everything he ever dreamed about a long time ago and that everything else is just extra credit for him.
James has hinted at retirement in the past, and these comments sure make it seem like he is just playing to play at this point. He is one of the best competitors in the history of the sport, and he of course wants to win another title.
But the words extra credit are interesting here.
This could mean nothing, as James may have been caught up in the moment. But this could also mean that he knows he won’t be playing much longer.
There has already been speculation that James could leave the Lakers this coming offseason. Fans would love for him to stay, but understandably, he could leave to play with his son Bronny James if he is drafted into the NBA.
The next few months will be telling to see where the Lakers organization is and what James does. It’ll be a situation to monitor throughout and certainly will be heavily talked about.
