Jasmine, however, never went that route, but did pursue a career in sports. She studied sports management at Syracuse University and is now a basketball field rep for women’s sport marketing at Jordan Brand.
It was at Syracuse that she met her husband, Rakeem Christmas and their son, Rakeem Michael Christmas is the one with her and her father in that picture. A short while after posting that, Jasmine also shared a video of the little boy watching the 2024 All-Star Game as an Instagram story (expires in 10 hours).
While not many basketball fans were too happy with the All-Star game, because there was no defense being played and the East scored over 200 points, a kid like him probably enjoyed it. Who knows, maybe some day Rakeem will be playing in the All-Star Game, as his grandfather did so many times. He was only born on May 4, 2019, so we’ll have to wait for a while for that.
Michael Jordan was a cold-blooded assassin on the court and if there was one word you would have never associated with him during his incredible career, it was soft. Well, things have changed now, and Jasmine revealed Michael had gone soft in retirement.
“Michael Jordan, the grandpa, is soft,” Jasmine said, via Meredith Cash of Insider. “My son definitely has my dad wrapped around his finger. He loves being a grandfather, and my son is his first grandchild.”
That’s typical for most grandfather-grandchild relationships. The feeling of becoming a grandfather for the first time certainly would have been incredible for Jordan. He might soon have another grandchild as well, depending on how the relationship between Marcus and Larsa Pippen develops.
