Steve Kerr’s Golden State Warriors rebounded on Monday in a rematch with the San Antonio Spurs. After losing 126-113 to the Spurs without Victor Wembanyama on Saturday, the Dubs overcame San Antonio’s late surge to win 112-102. They improved their record to 34-30, but they remain in tenth place in the tightly packed Western Conference.
Kerr has stated several times since before the trade deadline that the Warriors’ goal was to secure at least a guaranteed postseason position. They are 7-4 since the All-Star break, but remain placed tenth. The Dubs will most likely have to win two games in the play-in competition to get to the playoffs.
Regardless of where they are, Steve Kerr remains optimistic about what the next several months will bring. Here’s what he said on “95.7 The Game” about Golden State’s possible playoff run:
“I’m confident that our team is ready if we can remain healthy down the stretch and get Steph [Curry] back. I believe we can really have a strong run.”
Steph Curry sprained his right ankle against the Chicago Bulls on March 7 and has missed the Warriors’ last two games. Golden State is 1–4 this season sans the two-time MVP. To advance in the standings, he must return to lead the club.
Curry is allegedly cleared for on-court activities. If he does not experience a setback, he might join the Warriors for practice on Friday before traveling to Hollywood to face the Los Angeles Lakers. He may be able to return in time to face LeBron James’ team.
Steph Curry’s return to the lineup is undoubtedly something Steve Kerr hopes for. They can only travel as far as the deadeye shooter can carry the Warriors.

NBA teams have around 18 regular-season games remaining. The Golden State Warriors (34-30), led by Steve Kerr, trail the sixth-ranked Phoenix Suns (38-27) by only 2.5 games. If Steph Curry returns as scheduled, the Warriors may still be able to achieve their aim of securing an outright postseason spot.
Last season, Golden State appeared to be relegated to the play-in tournament. However, a strong surge in their last ten games helped them secure the sixth seed and last postseason spot. They have no choice but to repeat that script in order to avoid the complexities of the aforementioned pre-playoff arrangement.
