Maya Brady is making his uncle proud.
Tom Brady, the NFL’s legendary quarterback widely regarded as the GOAT, showcased his natural athleticism in his youth. He excelled in football, basketball, and baseball during his high school years. His talent in baseball was particularly noteworthy, leading to his selection by the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the 1995 MLB Draft while still in high school.
As a left-handed batting catcher with power and exceptional defensive skills, Tom Brady was a promising prospect for the Montreal Expos. The team had high hopes for him, envisioning his potential to become an All-Star. GM Kevin Malone even remarked that Brady had ‘the potential of becoming one of the best catchers ever.’
Maya Brady is setting the league on fire
While Tom Brady chose football, his niece, Maya Brady, is now making waves in softball. Following in her uncle’s footsteps, she is setting the college scene ablaze with her exceptional performances and staggering numbers on the field, promising a bright future in the sport.
Maya Brady is a 22-year-old senior with the UCLA Bruins softball team. She plays shortstop, and in 21 games during the 2024 season, she hit for .406 with six home runs and 29 RBIs.
She was recently named ‘Student-Athlete of the Week’ by UCLA after a monstrous week with a .667 average (4-for-6), two home runs, and eight RBI in the Bruins’ series sweep of Utah last week.
Her exploits are not going unnoticed by her uncle, as the former Patriots quarterback shared an Instagram Story in which he said that he ‘is proud’ of Maya and recognized the amazing season she is having with the Bruins in 2024.
