Klаy Thomрson ѕurpriѕingly reveаls ‘Sрlash Brotherѕ’ duo сould’ve hаppened before Golden Stаte Wаrriors

Klay Thompson revealed he had a chance to play Steph Curry in college.

The Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are renowned for their chemistry on and off the court. However, due to a recent revelation, it has come to light that before the duo joined the Warriors dynasty, there were already some possibilities that the Splash Brothers could have met each other ahead of the original schedule.

Klay Thompson appeared as a guest on the ‘Draymond Green Show’ recently. On the podcast, the third member of the dynasty, Green, asked Thompson about playing with Stephen Curry and his thoughts on him before becoming teammates.

Steph was already a superstar in my eyes because I was a big college basketball fan, and the tournament run he had in 2008 or 2009 was so special… I almost had a chance to play him in college.

Klay Thompson said

The 34-year-old revealed that in college there was a possibility of the Golden State Warriors duo playing against one another. During Thompson’s freshman year at Washington State University, the team lost to Saint Mary’s, who then played against Davidson College in the competition.

With their victory over Saint Mary’s, Washington would have qualified to play against Davidson. But that was Curry’s final year in Davidson as he entered the NBA draft in 2009. Hence, the possibility of the duo facing each other never became a reality. However, everything turned out well for the pair, considering what they achieved together in later years in the NBA.

Klay Thompson praises Stephen Curry’s jump shot

The Splash Brothers got their title because of the duo’s incredible shooting skills. Both players are considered two of the best shooters in NBA history. However, when it comes to jump shots, Thompson’s form is widely known as a textbook method.

In 2015, the Warriors won their first championship and, to follow the tradition; they visited the White House to meet the president. In their meeting with the then president, Barack Obama praised Thompson’s jump shot and hilariously called his form ‘prettier’ than Curry’s. Thompson made sure to bring that up to taunt Curry during his appearance on Draymond Green‘s podcast.
