Draymond Green discussed whether USC’s Bronny James will be a successful player in the NBA. He shares his thoughts on the latest episode of ‘Mind the Game’ with LeBron James and JJ Redick, two months before the 2024 NBA draft.
Whether Bronny James will be successful in the NBA is one debate. Another closely-related debate is how long it will take Bronny to succeed in the NBA if he does carve out a successful pro career. Right now, the only real value Bronny has is that the team which acquires him will also acquire LeBron James in a two-for-one deal. Bronny is, in the minds of many basketball analysts and draft evaluators, not currently ready for the league. However, he could be ready in a few years with more development and, to be brutally honest, better coaching than what he received at USC from Andy Enfield, who simply couldn’t unlock the talents of the players he had this past season. Bronny might not make a meaningful on-court contribution to an NBA roster in the next three years, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t become a productive NBA player five or six years from now. That’s a part of the Bronny conversation which might be getting overlooked.
