Jay-Z honored with “The Book of Hov” Exhibition at The Brooklyn Public Library

Jay-Z receives praise from his hometown in the most memorable way. The Brooklyn native was honored with a unique exhibition at the Brooklyn Public Library. The exhibition properly titled Brook of Hov, opened Friday July, 14th as Beyoncé, Blue Ivy and Jay-Z’s family celebrated the moment. The 40,000 square foot exhibition includes archived objects such as original recordings, masters never heard before, rare photos, and more.

When naming the top rappers in the genre, Jay-Z is still a name that holds incredible weight. The now fifty-three year old, has a career spanning multiple decades, genres and cultures. Selling over 140 million records worldwide, Jay-Z is one of the worlds best selling music artist. Releasing fourteen platinum albums and winning twenty four Grammy Awards, he is one of the most awarded rappers in history. Founder and CEO of RocNation, Jay-Z is credited with the commercial success behind Rihanna, J. Cole and Kanye West. Aside from music, his business ventures also make legendary. Jay-Z achieved historical levels by becoming the first hip-hop Billionaire.



With a career that is still influencing and inspiring, an exhibition in Jay-Z’s honor is long over due. Linda Johnson, the CEO of the Brooklyn Public Library, stated “Jay Z is an important part of the borough’s story,” referring to the history of Brooklyn. The exhibition is free to enjoy for anyone with a library card.
