Travis Scott and Kevin Durant Deliver Unforgettable Jam Session with Electrifying Performance of Rick James Classic

Travis Scott and Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns were featured in an Apple Music feature called “Carpool Karaoke.” Naturally, the pair covered some of Scott’s songs, but they also ventured into uncharted musical territory.

In an episode teaser, Scott is seen riding shotgun while Durant takes the wheel. Scott and the artist trade verses on the song “Sicko Mode” from his most recent album, Astroworld. They also rap Kendrick Lamar’s verse from Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight (2016) on Scott’s song “Goosebumps.”

The Houston rapper shared a story about a childhood involvement in a musical with Durant, showcasing his wide range of musical tastes. In addition to quoting a few lines of “Too Darn Hot,” he says, “I was in a play called Kiss Me, Kate and it’s like one of my favorite songs.” Another song they cover is “Super Freak” by Rick James. Apple TV viewers are able to view the entire show.

This weekend, Scott will play two performances in New York as part of his North American tour in support of Astroworld. Scott sang “Stop Trying to Be God” and “No Bystanders,” two tracks off his LP, at the Grammys last month.
